Internet research specialist, Emily Taylor

Emily Taylor is a renowned expert in the field of Internet Law and Governance, and provides research services in the areas of internet technology and governance, including Security, IPV6 development, International Domain Names, the domain name industry, and global policy development.

Emily has worked closely with EURid, the .eu registry, for many years, including as lead author of the World Report on Internationalised Domain Names Deployment (a joint project with UNESCO, EURid and Verisign).  She also teaches a compact seminar on EU Internet law and governance for the College of Europe in Bruges.

As an associate of InterConnect Communications, Emily has provided gTLD evaluation services, reports for Ofcom on DNSSEC, IPv6 adoption, and Carrier Grade Network Address Translation, and for ICANN’s Accountability and Transparency Review Team 2 an expert report on the effectiveness of ICANN’s Policy Development Process.

Other roles in the internet sphere include: member of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group to the Internet Governance Forum (2006-2012), Chair of the WHOIS Review Committee for ICANN 2012, Director of Synetergy (providing Sunrise Dispute resolution services to the largest gTLD applicant, Donuts), and several ongoing non-Executive Directorships.

Together with her husband Lucien Taylor, she manages a number of innovative internet businesses including domain name brand protection services, and OXIL Internet Systems, a software development company.

Trained as a lawyer in the City of London, as Head of Legal and Policy in the .UK Domain Registry she headed a number of innovative initiatives, including founding the Nominet Dispute Resolution Service.
